Today, as the rapid development of economy, science and technology in the world, there are more and more environmental problems, such as air pollution, sandstorm, greenhouse effect and so on. Solving environmental problems and protecting environment have been put on the agenda by the nations in the world. Through environmental education to improve people’s environmental protection consciousness, and promote people’s environmental behavior is an effective way to solve the environmental problems, also an important way to cultivate teenagers’ scientific environment view and develop their good behavior to protect environment.The advancement and reformation of environmental education can reflect in the textbook, also researching textbooks can have an insight into the implementation of environmental education. This study is based on relevant literatures about environmental education in textbooks. By the methods of content analysis, comparative analysis, this study compares the science textbooks between Chinese mainland and Taiwan, in order to find out the differences about content layout and selection of environmental education.Though comparison and analysis, this study finds that in these all four versions’ science textbooks, there are significant differences about compiled sequence, column design, layout pattern, language expression, picture design, and five connotations, six themes. Based on the findings, in the end there are some suggestions for science textbook writers in Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
