New Chinese Readings is the product of the social discussion to Chinese teaching in the late 20th Century.lt advocates Chinese New Curriculum Reform in the way of folk education reform. New Chinese Readings inherits the "Kaiming Spirit’It’s associated with the "Kaiming Spirit" in the aspects of editorial staff,educational idea,innovation of readings’arrangement.Its editorial staffs include university professors, scholars,Chinese educational professionals,Chinese teachers and senior editors.The educational idea of New Chinese Readings is to cultivate persons.There are a lot of classics in it which is to nourish the students and to develop the sane personalities.lt edits a progressive reading system.The reading suggestions are written in the aim of "equally talking" and "language sense’s developing".The publishment of New Chinese Readings affects the compilation of Chinese extracurricular readings and Chinese textbooks.My paper analyzes the characteristics of New Chinese Readings and probes the succession of the "Kaiming Spirit".The purpose is to provide some references or thinking in Chinese textbooks’s compilation and new curriculum reform’s development:the first one is to encourage textbooks’diversification and to recover the tradition,that is universities and high schools’research Chinese teaching together:the second one is to attach importance to Chinese teaching materials’ humanities spirit and create some new pattern of Chinese teaching materials.
