| As the international communication increasingly, intercultural communication hasbecome a realistic need in life. Intercultural awareness is extremely important tocommunicate with people from different cultures. Therefore, it is important to combinelanguage teaching and culture teaching, thus students can learn language in the culturalcontext. To prove that the incorporation of the target language culture teaching andvocabulary teaching is effective to students’ vocabulary and English learning, the theresearcher had a experiment in Xinghai senior high school, in Guyuan, NingxiaProvence.There are five chapters in this thesis.In Chapter One the researcher introduced the background and significance of thisstudy.Chapter Two is the research review, first of all, the researcher introduced therelationship between language and culture, then the importance of culture teaching invocabulary teaching, at last, reviewed the history and current situation of cultureteaching in foreign language teaching.Chapter Three is the present situation investigation of the vocabulary teaching inXinghai senior high school. In this investigation, the researcher mainly investigated thecurrent situation of English vocabulary teaching of the English teachers, as well as thevocabulary learning strategies of students. The researcher also analyzed the problems inteachers’ vocabulary teaching and students’ vocabulary learning.Chapter Four is the experimental research about how to input culture in highschool English vocabulary teaching, which is the most important part of the thesis. Inthis experimental research, the researcher combines the teaching of vocabulary withculture teaching in the empirical class, then tests the empirical class and comparativeclass twice, at last, the researcher analyzes the results. After the experiment,the researcher proved that it is important for students’ vocabulary learning to inputculture in the process of target language vocabulary teaching. During the research, theresearcher followed the principles, the methods and the contents to input culture in theprocess of vocabulary teaching.Chapter Five is the conclusion of the thesis. Combining the interview to theexperimental class with the previous experimental results, the researcher drew theconclusion that input of cultural teaching in vocabulary teaching is helpful to inspirestudents’ interest in learning and enhance students’ intercultural communicationawareness, it also helps to improve students’ comprehensive language using ability. |
