| Our great educator Confucius has proposed that teachers should have two qualitywhich are insatiable in learning and indefatigable in teaching.However, with the change of times, some teachers are lacking these two quality gradually under the influence of many factors. Teacher`s job burnout is a serious erosion of the “soul of the soul of engineersâ€.Job burnout restricts teachers’ professional development, teachers` professional development will also enhances the job burnout if it is blocked.Both of them influence each other. It is the relationship of dialectical unity.Teachers who are in the condition of job burnout will feel fatigue enhanced gradually,and their sense of achievement become weaker and weaker.They have no passion to work. How to get rid of those negative emotions? How to regain confidence? How to make work meaningful? During this period, teachers will encounter more and more problems to be solved.At present, there are a lot of researches on teachers` jobburnout, but any a few are specifically for primary school English teachers. This is a reseach on job burnout of primary English teacher in Chongqing.This article bases on the theory of teachers` professional development stage and the theory of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. It adopts such methods as documentation, questionnaire, interview, taking 123 primary English teachers in Chongqing host city and 6 teachers from different districts,towns and small county by telephone interviews and in-depth face to face interviews. It aims at analyzing and discussing the general condition of job burnout to look for the cause of job burnout of primary English teacher in Chongqing according to the survey results, the historical background and geographical features, toinvestigate the relationship between the factors, andpropose countermeasures to increasing primary school English teachers’ professional level, reducingjob burnout. Burnout Inventory data collected in the survey were processed using SPSS 20.0.By taking statistics of the questionnaire, the results showed that:â… . Chongqing primary school English teachers` job burnout is worse than moderate level. The three dimensions on Burnout Inventory exhibit the sense of accomplishment is low and emotional exhaustion is serious.â…¡. The teaching age, age, teaching status(rise, bottlenecks, down) have a greater impact on Chongqing primary school English teachers` burnout, but gender, education had no significant effect on it.â…¢. The reasons for teachers` job burnout between urban and rural primary school in Chongqing are different. One is overstimulation, the other is limited stimulus.Teaching assignments and social expectations have a great impact on primary school English teachers` burnout.â…£. The environment and condition of teachers` professional development are limited. The English teaching and research group in the Teacher Training school doesn`t pay enough attention to promote primary school English teachers’ professional development, lacking in ways and means.Teachers` job burnout situation is vastly due to the unsatisfactory professional development.The solution for the job burnout problem should be started in two areas:â… .
