When Polanyi proposed the concept of tacit knowledge in about 1950 s, researchers at home or abroad began to study about it. Now, the era of knowledge economy’s arrival promoted the continuous improvement of the tacit knowledge theory. The study of tacit knowledge began in the technology transfer and knowledge management in the enterprise or organization.At the same time, researchers made the explication of tacit knowledge by person to person communication or with the aid of network technology. Since then, the research of tacit knowledge was coming to the education. This study is do the work to make the tacit knowledge explicit in chemistry teaching.This experiment tested on seventy potential students who were from two classes of Grade nine、several students do well in chemistry and a teacher in Hunan Guangyi Experimental Middle School in China. The training materials contained two chemical examination papers, “embedded figure test” adopting by Beijing Normal University and “Learning ideas questionnaire” Which was prepared by the experiment. First, the experimenter first did related investigation to got the tacit knowledge of the teacher and students with better chemical grades explicit, then do the teaching practice on Grate nine with the explicit results from the investigation with about three months,at last collecting the chemical scores and other related indicators of potential students.Its data were analyzed by spss ll.5.Then,the experiment got some conclusions as follows:(1) After teaching chemistry with the result of Tacit knowledge be made explicit in potential students of Grade nine, whose chemical scores rose significantly.(2) After teaching chemistry with the result of Tacit knowledge be made explicit in potential students of Grade nine, there exited little difference about teaching effect in students with different cognitive style.(3) After teaching chemistry with the result of Tacit knowledge be made explicit in potential students of Grade nine, there exited little difference about teaching effect in students with different gender.
