| The emergence of the Internet has dramatically changed various aspects of human life. Compared with traditional media, the Internet has broken down information dissemination barriers, shorten the distance and quicken the pace of information dissemination, serving as the broadest platform for disseminating information and expressing opinions. With the development of the times, the conflict between the increasing demand of information and the blockage of websites accompanied by more sensitive words keeps deepening, which leads to the prevalence of "climbing over the Firewall". College students account for a large proportion of netizens who climb over the Firewall. College students are open and courageous, ready to accept new things and pursue novelty and excitement, yet they have not firmly formed their world outlook, values and outlook on life, thus guiding students to use the Internet properly is very important for improving their network morality and comprehensive quality. Therefore, the research on the behavior of College Students "climbing over the Firewall" is of great significance.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is a general introduction, primarily analyzing the related theories and methods of experts and scholars from home and abroad; the second part defines related concepts; the third part analyzes the current situation of College Students "climbing over the Firewall" based on the survey data and existing research results, mainly including major forms of expression, scale, demographic distribution characteristic, whereabouts, motives and the imitation and the spread of behaviors; the fourth part researches the behavioral effects of College Students "climbing over the Firewall" from three perspectives:individuals, groups and the society; the fifth part offers some thoughts about network supervision and network freedom brought about by the behavior of college students"climbing over the Firewall".The behavior of college students "climbing over the Firewall" is mainly for study, communication and entertainment online. As for the behavioral effects, it affects cognition, attitude and behavior of students from the perspective of individuals; it affects group performance and the formation of social recognition from the perspective of groups; it affects the social democracy, culture, supervision and information sovereignty from the perspective of the society. The existence of "climbing over the Firewall" on the Internet shows that there is ongoing conflicts between the needs of netizens and state’s network supervision. By comparing with other countries’ modes of network supervision and analyzing the current situation of network supervision in our country, the author has put forward suggestions for strengthening Internet legislation, enhancing industry self-discipline and improving supervisory system. |
