The research is based on the interviews of 11 middle school mental health teachers from Chengdu, which studied on the key events of middle school mental health teachers’ professional development, as well as analyzied and summarized the characteristics.The key events which affect the professional development of middle school mental health teachers copmrise successful events、frustrated events and sentimental events. The successful events include theCompetition of giving a class, appraisement and promotion and publishing of papers. The frustrated events include normal teaching events and abnormal events. The sentimental events consist of new teacher training, professional skills training and scholarship activity.The two factors of the key events of middle school mental health teachers’ professional development are pivotal figure and critical period. The pivotal figure includes the leaders of school, masters and the members of the group, ect. The critical period includes the entry period of new teacher, and special period. The special period, in the research, refer to The Wenchuan earthquake.It is need joint efforts from different angle to promote the middle school mental health teachers’ professional development. On one hand, the teachers have to do self-examinations and Summarizing. On the other hand, the school should provide a better working environment, which means the better communication chances, the mutual aid groups and the professional supervision, as well as the abundant substance and the Institutional guarantee.
