The positive effects of sports trainings on the disabled has shown completely in the Beijing Paralympics Games in 2008. And we were so shocked at athletes’ self-improvement when facing difficulties instead of their speed and achievements. Life lies in movement which make lives more exciting. And with the development of society and economy, China are putting more and more in educational undertakings for the disabled. Also, more and more people pay attentions to this special area. The Chinese Communist Party pointed out that we should “concern for special education” in the 17 th CPC National Congress and listed it as one of the key aspects of improving people’s livelihood. Furthermore, new educational acts provide requirements for special education of special children. The development of special educations and sports courses in special schools not only promotes the physical and mental development of the disabled children in all-around, but also help them achieve self-realization. Therefore, it is necessary to enrich the research results of physical education(PE) in special schools constantly and prepare and launch sports suitable for adolescent disabled children based on these results, thus helping them overcome psychological barriers, get into the society, and achieve self-actualization.Through literature data method, questionnaire method, mathematical statistics and expert interviews, this paper takes the current status of PE teaching in special schools in Hefei as the research subject, and the in-depth study find the following problems: Although special schools in Hefei enjoy a reasonable age structure of teachers, they suffer from serious irrational educational background structure; special schools in Hefei lack of PE teachers with professional background and capacity for scientific research; sports facilities in these schools are in short of supply, which restricts the development of special education in a way; after-school activities and practices in special schools are performed well, but PE development planning is out of time and there are few special sports activities for the purpose of rehabilitation; narrow funding sources with small investments obviously hinder the development of PE in special schools, which is to the disadvantage of upgrading and maintenance of sports facilities, thus providing no guarantee for the regular work of PE classes and extracurricular sports activities.To deal with the above problems, the author makes the following suggestions: special schools in Hefei should constantly facilitate PE planning innovations, make physical training for disabled students more interesting and funny so that they can get trained in an relaxed and pleasing environment; strengthen the trainings for special education teachers, put more energy in training PE teachers with special skills and improve the professional level of teaching staff; promote the establishment of special school courses and teaching material system and formulate unified and standard specialized teaching material; keep expanding funding channels for these schools so as to enhance the teaching facilities for special education; steadily rise teaching quality, carry out reforms and innovations in all aspects such as teaching material selection, curriculum provision and teacher configuration; continuously enrich students’ extracurricular activities and build a good learning and living environment for special children through various activities.
