| Cheer dance, a division of Cheerleading, as the name is based on dance moves, a collection of various dance techniques by showing different elements of dance moves athletes’ strength and beauty as a group, it requires not only sets action choreography to reflect the artistic feeling of dance performances, also stressed the strength of the sets of action sports, the athletes’ physical abilities as well as the completion of the action skills. Difficulty is one of the key content in Cheer dances, includes leaps, rotations, flexibility and tumbling, and the judges will focus on the quality, value, execution and chorography of the difficulty to score every routine. According to the routine from competitions in these years, difficulty is playing quite a important role in routines, and so far Chinese cheer dancers are suffering the unsatisfied execution and techniques.This paper is aiming at researching on choosing, choreographing and executing difficulties from China and other top teams in the world, fully understand the trend of international cheer dance development, finding the weak link of difficulties for domestic athletes, thereby helping coaches to make targeted training programs. This paper is using different methods such as:literature material, video analysis, questionnaire investigation, expert interview, mathematical statistic research on the top eight teams of the 2014 world cheerleading championships, analyzed and compare their difficulties and here is the following conclusions:1.Team United States and Japan both in Freestyle and Jazz hold project set of movements, the choice of difficulty coefficient are completed in best quality, fully embodies the athletes physical ability, solid foundation, high technical specifications, the overall strength is relatively consistent, these factors are the favorable winning conditions of the two countries.2.The amount of difficulties can’t decide the ranking; the value of difficulty and the execution, is one of the important factors of team ranking.3.Rotations could be seen as a symbolic difficulty of cheer dance, and also a necessary difficulty for every routine.The world’s top teams are tend to have more than 1080° pirouette, and in a la seconde, they are getting fast, large amount and diverse.4. These top eight teams are all select toe touch jumps in their routines. But the t op two teams make some credit on amount of leaps, such as double or triple jumps, C jump, calypso and straddle jump are common in Jazz. These are no big difference i n these eight teams. Tour jette, siccors leaps always with formation changes.5. About the balance and flexibility, team United States and Japan don’t pay muc h attentions, it shows that this category cannot represent the level of a team, but it can enlighten the routine.6. tumbling is also not that common in these routines, it just appears in team Japa n, Columbia and Ukraine. But this category might be major trend in the future. |
