The preschool education in China has been thrivingly developing. However, the quit rate of preschool teachers also has been on the up trend in recent years, whose cause is worthy of serious consideration. As part of occupational psychology, the occupational commitment of preschool teachers, which also has a close relation with teachers’sense of responsibility and their career identity, has been drawing more and more attention recently. Studies have already shown that organizational climate of preschools has a significant impact on the teaching efficacy and mental health of teachers. Therefore, with Shanghai-based preschool teachers as my samples, this study is aimed at an in-depth research into the situation and the correlation between organizational climate of preschools and occupational commitment of preschool teachers.Using Questionnaire of Organizational Climate of Preschools adapted by Yong Jiang (2007) and Questionnaire of Occupational Commitment of Preschool Teachers adapted by Zhihong Zuo (2008) as research tools, this study is done by means of questionnaire survey of 221 preschool teachers in Shanghai, some of whom are further involved in the study as interviewees for supplement to as well as support of the data analysis.The results show that:(1) the total score of organizational climate of preschools is higher than the theoretic median as well as the scores of each dimension. The dimension of support has the highest score, followed by development, intimacy and adaption; (2) the scores of organizational climate of preschools have significant difference with different marital status, seniority, address and rank of the preschools; (3) in general, the occupational commitment of preschool teachers is in the middle level. The normative commitment get the highest score, followed by the affective commitment, and the score of continuance commitment is much lower; (4) The occupational commitment of preschool teachers has significant difference with different ages, seniority, address and rank of the preschools; (5) the organizational climate of preschools has significant correlation with the occupational commitment of preschool teacher, with a correlation coefficient was 0.401; (6) the total score of occupational commitment and scores of affective commitment and normative commitment have significant differences between the high score group and low score group of organizational climate whereas continuous commitment do not; (7) the score of support can predict that of normative commitment effectively, the same for the development on affective commitment and the total score of occupational commitment.Based on the these results, this study proposes as follows for the construction of organizational climate of preschools:(1) pay more attention to teachers’expectations; (2) create a more harmonious interpersonal relationship; (3) improve the career management of preschool teachers; (4) lay emphasis on the quality of family life of preschool teachers.
