Education equity is the basis of social equity, which also is the ideal and goal of human being’s common pursuit. For a long time, in order to achieve this ideal and goal, Bangladesh has done continuous efforts, gained many achievements, but education equity is still a significant problem. In recent years, in order to promote the development of urban and rural education equity, from the rural to the urban, Bangladesh take a series of measures for development of education, such as primary school nationalization, Primary school stipend Programme, Dakar Action Framework, Primary Education Development Programme Ⅲ. But the urban-rural education inequity is still a problem. Therefore, combing the Bangladesh process of the formation and development of urban-rural education inequity problem, analyzing the causes of urban-rural education inequity in Bangladesh, and putting forward the relevant suggestions accordingly to improve the development of urban-rural education inequity problems in Bangladesh is of great significance. After reviewing Bangladesh education development process in British colonial period, Pakistan period and Bangladesh era, this paper finds that urban-rural education inequity still exits in Banglade, which is demonstrated in terms of urban-rural education achievement gaps, unbalanced urban-rural teachers distribution and the gap in literacy groups between urban-rural. The reasons of existing urban-rural education inequity are education system inequity, education policy, corruption and social stratification structure between urban and rural areas. So, to reduce urban-rural education inequity in Bangladesh, this paper has the following suggestions:first, to enhance government’s policy design and promote the development of urban and rural education as a whole; second, to make development as the guidance and strike a balance between equity and efficiency; third, to improve the relevant legal policy and optimize resource allocation..
