Research On Shaping The Image Of Datong City In The Perspective Of Urban Cultural Capital Theory

With the level of urbanization of China rising,which makes the competition more intense between cities, shaping the city’s image has become a focus. However, in the process of shaping the image of the city, the lack of awareness of city’s cultural makes the city "thousands of city side," such as matchbox-style house, the roof and the same color, and even some cities face the problem of "Building destruction ", resulting city’s image crisis in the construction of the city. How city’s cultural resources can be converted into economic benefits of cultural capital, how to take advantage of a unique urban culture shaping the city’s image, these issues need managers require study careful in the New Era city.From the perspective of cultural capital city theory, the article try to put the city’s image as the research object,using Datong as case studies to analyze its problems in image building, and put forward practical suggestions and strategies on how to shape the image of the city.This article consists of six parts:Introduction section elaborates research background, research questions and research significance, analyze the research situation in domestic and abroad on the city’s image and urban cultural capital theory,introduces research methods, the difficulties and innovations.The first part explains the connotation and system of city’s image and urban cultural capital theory, analysis the relationship between city’s image and urban cultural capital theory, which provides an analytical framework for shaping the image of the city of Datong.The second part analysis the problems in Datong city image with questionnaire and have a deep research on the urban cultural capital framework, namely the concept of cultural capital, institutional and cultural capital, the capital structure of the material culture of Datong city under the present situation and the plight of image-building, mainly in: first,the urban concept is not clear, falling into "pan-cultural" mud, lacking of uniqueness; second, the investment on urban image system is inadequate; Third, the lack of urban material culture dominant factor in cultural construction resulted the quality of city culture lower.The third part summarizes the experience in shaping city image in different cities, such as historical city of Hangzhou and Chengdu, resource-based city Jiaozuo, exploring valuable reference for measures in order to improve the image of the city of Datong reference.The fourth part draw on the experience of shaping the city’s image at domestic and abroad, put forward reasonable suggestions in the cultural capital city sights, which include: first, make cultural capital theory valuable; second, make cultural capital theory valuable; third, make cultural capital physical form valuable.The fifth part is the conclusion of the article, includes a brief summary of the article, direction of the research and the problems.All in all, urban image and culture of the capital city are a long-term, arduous and complicated project. The city is one of the results of their own behaviour, a good city should be the "ideal home" of the public.
