In recent years, with the number of vocational college in our country and the number of graduates continues to grow, higher vocational colleges has occupied half of higher education. However, in many higher vocational colleges have not yet formed their own characteristics and employment situation is very serious, under the form of the success of the higher vocational graduates employment has become a big problem. Thus improve the ability of higher vocational college students to meet the needs of society be an important task of our higher vocational education, and strengthen the higher vocational college students’ career planning and career guidance is a kind of effective measures.Based on this, this paper in reference to the large number of research literature and practical experience at home and abroad, on the basis of scientific definition of the occupation, definition and connotation of career and career planning, put forward improving the vocational college students career planning system to promote the all-round development of students in higher vocational colleges, improve the education quality of higher vocational college, to maintain social stability and harmony of great significance. Second, the content and features of career planning in higher vocational colleges both at home and abroad on the basis of the comparison analysis, and points out the foreign career planning in the concept, content, principle, system and the aspects such as teaching experience and enlightenment to our country. Then, this paper takes the jinhua vocational college as an example, the career planning of university students present situation investigation and problem analysis, and research and design a set of accord with the actual, with characteristic of vocational education college performance management system optimization. Finally, the article is given priority to with school level, students’ level and social level is complementary, and puts forward the guiding China’s vocational college students to carry out the route choice of career planning.The research results show that, our vocational college students’ career planning is unclear vocational interest, professional judgment is not accurate, there is a deviation professional concept, lack of pertinence, school social practice and social service system is not sound career planning, etc. School level should be comprehensive adjustment strategy, accelerate the construction of career planning education curriculum system, strengthen the team construction, enhance the level of guidance, for higher vocational graduates tracking investigation and information feedback; Learn to according to the syllabus and students build a reasonable knowledge structure, establish professional ideals, determine the direction, and realize their professional ability, and participating in various social practice, flexibility to career planning; Society the government should increase investment and improve the corresponding management institution, the education administrative department should change ideas, other relevant departments should also attach great importance to higher vocational students, the social from all walks of life to more efforts to support the vocational students’ employment.
