| With the environmental problems in contemporary society becoming more serious, theecological environment and living environment that human being are dependent on are facingserious challenges. Since the Chinese economic, CPC has always attaches great importance tothe construction of ecological civilization, which has been included in the Party Constitutionsince the17th and18th CPC National Congress., CPC has also established the integrateddevelopment model, including economic construction, political construction, culturalconstruction, social construction and ecological civilization construction. As an effective carrierof ideological and political education for college students, college student organizations havetheir educational functions. Green college student organizations (GCSO), focusing onpromoting ecological civilization, are undoubtedly of great significance.. On the one hand, asone of the many students’organizations, it can carry on ideological and political education to itsmembers via different ways. On the other hand, due to its ecological characteristics, GCSOcontributes to the ecological civilization construction of colleges and universities. Therefore,carrying out a research on GCSO can play an important role in analyzing contemporary studyof ideological and political education.There are four chapters in this paper. The first chapter expounds the historical origins of theGCSO in China, and compares them with general students’ organizations and analyzes itsfeatures. The second chapter analyzes GCSO’s functions on ideological and political education,and put forward its contribution to ideological and political education in terms of its activityform, content and the connotation. The third chapter studies its current development throughquestionnaires, and analyzes the problems and causes GCSOs are facing. The fourth chaptertakes its own problems and relevant foreign experience into consideration, proposes possibledevelopment for its future construction, and discusses how to promote its healthy growth fromthree perspectives, including how to give them more support, how to reinforce their teambuilding and management, and how to innovate their activities. |
