Empirical Study On The Generation Mechanism Of Marxism Ideals And Faith For Contemporary College Students

In the current multi-culture background, people’s values and ideals&beliefs haveshowed growing diversity. What values and ideals&beliefs shall the contemporarycollege students choose to become the focus of education, especially the ideologicaland political education? Marxist theory is a proved scientific outlook and methodology,thus its study becomes a compulsory course for college students. To better understandand practice the Marxist theory, it is particularly important to study the generationmechanism of Marxism ideals and beliefs from the cognition, emotion and will, basedon the psychology, ethics, and ideological and political education.Based on the related literature, a questionnaire is prepared for college students fromthe cognition, emotion and will and then carried out among1,000freshmen and seniorstudents. It concludes that by exploratory factor analysis, mean comparison, independentsamples T test and variance analysis: this questionnaire has good internal consistencyreliability and construct validity, and that college students of different genders, majors,grades, political statuses and positions show a higher level in cognition, emotion and willwhile a lower preference to Marxism ideals and beliefs. In order to further study thegeneration mechanism, the relationships among cognition, emotion and will are analyzedwith correlation analysis method and multiple linear regression method, and the resultsshow that there are positive correlations and multiple linear relations between them andthat the cognition and will can act together to affect emotion.The current problems of college students’ marxism ideals and beliefs can besummarized as Five paradox and Five performance. On the basis of Marxist idealsand beliefs of college students on the situation analysis, the study found collegestudents own psychological characteristics and basic contradiction existing in theteaching process are the main factors affecting the formation of Marxist ideals andbeliefs of college students. To this end, guiding college students to enhance theirself-identity and handling the basic contradiction of the teaching process correctly, cancontribute to the Marxist ideals and beliefs of the college generation.
