After the Guide was published, teachers are required to pay more attention tomaking observation of children’s react and behaviors during class and record typical andvaluable information as the basis for teaching future classes. The new requirement forteachers in the Guide is for them to combine curriculum implementation with activitiesin daily work. And teachers have to observe, record and analyze children’s emotions, behaviors, speech and thinking mode during class and activities. But currently, becauseof their lack of knowledge of Observation and Recording, teachers can not use thisauxiliary teaching method effectively. Therefore, for letting the teachers get to knowmore about Observation and Recording and evaluate the students more comprehensively, more specifically and more objectively, this essay analyzes the problems in theimplementation of Observation and Recording and the potential reasons of the problemsto find out ways to solve the problems as theoretical guidelines to the educationalpractice. There’re five main parts of this essay:Part I: Introduction, including the origin, significance, methods and process of thisresearch.Part II: Summary of references, which analyzed research about the implementationof Observation and Recording in preschool, professional quality of preschool teachers, and the use of Observation and Recording in mathematical activities.Part III: Problems of the implementation of Observation and Recording inpreschool mathematical activities. Finding out and analyzing problems in practicesbased on the requirements of Observation and Recording for the teachers, including theignorance of the use of the method, using the method in a wrong way, and theineffectiveness of the implementation of the method.Part IV: The causes of the ineffective use of Observation and Recording, analyzingfrom teachers’, kindergartens’ and children’s perspective respectively.PartV: Strategies to improve the effectiveness of the implementation ofObservation and Recording. Presenting strategies to improve the effectiveness based onthe research of the existing problems and the causes and references.
