With smooth progress of the China Compulsory Education Curriculum Reform in2004, The newcurriculum reform calls for the creation of history in senior high school elective course, this requirementreflects the new curriculum reform of the purpose and philosophy, is a highlight of the new curriculumreform. With the region has started the history curriculum reform, elective courses of the exploration andpractice of senior high school history also becomes increasingly important.How can we better openelectives in high school history, Avoiding and solving problems encountered in the process ofimplementation of history elective courses, It will be the focus of research in the new curriculum reform ofthe elective.Through field investigation and study on some high schools in Zhengzhou city of HenanProvince, I found that the current senior history elective in high school, there are some problems in theimplementation process, High school history electives were not really implemented, The specificperformance presents: Elective courses for senior history module fixed, Students have no choice; Teachingmethod of the history of elective is single; The college entrance examination evaluation system issingle.Through the analysis of the college entrance examination evaluation mode, shortage of curriculumresources, both teachers and students lack of understanding of the concept of history elective and therelationship between elective and required courses,These are the factors which restrict the implementationof elective courses of history in high schools. Through the analysis of factors which restrict theimplementation of elective courses of history in high schools, the author gives the following of thecorresponding reference and suggestions from four aspects: First, the education department should intensifypropaganda, offer policy support, carry out the lectures related to history elective actively and optimize thereform of high school evaluation system. Second, the school should establish the perfect system of historyelective course, develop and use local teaching resources rationally. Third, teachers should strengthenappropriate training for teachers and update their teaching concepts, transform and optimize their teachingmethods, develop and use various of historical resources of elective courses. Four, students should change the concept of learning, take a correct attitude towards study and optimize their learning style.
