Education is not only the foundation of national revitalization andsocial progress, but also the basic approach of improving national qualitiesand prompting human comprehensive development. A nation can onlydepend on education to be passed on from generation to generation, withouteducation the nation will disappear. At present, the phenomenon ofexamination-oriented education in China is serious, it is far from educationwe expect. For examination-oriented education, attitude of most people ishelpless and numb, or it has been ignored. Besides, the number oftheoretical researches on examination-oriented education is small ineducation field. However, examination-oriented education is a seriousproblem involved in the whole education system and the crux of many badeducation phenomena, it is also a problem which needs to be faced andsolved in the process of advancing quality education and promotingeducation reform. And we should pay enough attention to it and make afurther analysis of it. The author has done the multilevel and multimoderesearch in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shijiazhuang, Baoding,Harbin, Qiqihar, Mianyang, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hohhot, Baotou and soon and summarizes the five performance of the present exam-orientededucation as well as presents problems of exam-oriented education one byone with flexible interviews, accurate statistics and the real individual casesin order to raise common focus and further study for solving practicalproblems on education of our country.First of all, the current standard of educational evaluation is singlewhich takes grade as only standard. The state has put forward the teachingaims of education, which are to educate various talented people needed bythe socialist modernization with all-round development, creative spirit,practical abilities, individual features. However, the reality is not the case. It is expressed as single student evaluation and education quality evaluation.At present, either the evaluation of students or the evaluation of educationquality simply points to grades. High grade has been always regarded asonly criterion of brilliant students, responsible teachers and good schools,which inevitably leads to a large number of brain drain.Second,much utilitarian awareness on violating nature of educationexists in current education. Because of taking grade as only standard, insideand outside of education field in our country are full of strong utilitarianawareness. For students, most of them have strong utilitarian awareness forlearning. They take grade as supreme goal and strongest power directly anddon’t care improving of learning capacity and comprehensive qualities. Forteachers, most of them have strong utilitarian awareness for teaching.Teachers engage teaching behavior for utilitarianism and neglectresponsibility of propagating the doctrine, imparting professional knowledgeand resolving doubts. For society, it has strong utilitarian awareness forassistantship. Many education organizations and education media take profitas purpose and high grade as goal to engage in examination-aiding, whichleads examination-oriented education to be more and more serious.The result of such strong utilitarian awareness is utilitarianization.Utilitarianization of education is not only bad for long-term development ofeducation, but also dose harm to long-term development of country.Third, it is teaching and learning program according to examinatorialoutline. Teachers teach what is tested in the exams. They arrange exams sofrequently and regard inscribes sea tactics and test-taking skills as the key tosuccess. Students learn what is tested and would not spare their time on whatis excluded in the exams. In such circumstance, students are framed withinthe text answers. As a result, imagination and creativity will fade away.Forth, it is a kind of specialty training activities in the quality of thepseudo in the name of quality education. Although quality education has along history, the present quality education is not the real one and test-takingis a big part of it. At present, our comprehensions of qualities are confined by some special aspects, such as music, PE and art, which causes theone-sided understanding of physical. In addition, physical education takesgrades as the single criteria and carries on teaching in accordance withexaminatorial outline, which is typical performance of exam-orientededucation. In this specialty training activity, students do not get all-rounddevelopment.Fifth, it gives birth to the existence of the student team aiming atstudents’ getting higher grades. Family members build a team supportingstudents from human and financial resources. This move is with strongutility color. And there are so many social education speculations along withthe exam-oriented education, forming a strong social help team, who aim atmaking money under the name of improving the students’ scores. In anotherword, the home and social education become the slaves of schools andmarks.In brief, the exam-oriented education of our country has manyproblems, worthing our further deep thinking and thinking.
