As an important part of the school sports work, campus competitions, especially invocational colleges, have important practical significance for students’healthy bodyshaping, students’sunshine mentality and the strenghthing of their comprehensive quality.In recent years, the higher vocational colleges have developed rapidly in Changzhou,a slogan goes like, national vocational education in Jiangsu, Jiangsu vocational educationin Changzhou. In order to construct the better campus sports culture, continue to improvethe campus sports competition, this paper focuses on the research of current situation ofcampus sports competition in Changzhou higher vocational colleges, analyse thecharacteristics and functions of sports competitions in colleges and universities, to find themain way and the general rule to develop the campus sports competition in highervocational colleges, to refine the specific characteristics and main functions of campussports competition, to enhance further understanding of campus sports competition in PEteachers, to dig in deep and develop a unique charm and function of campus sportscompetition.In this paper, by using the methods of literature, questionnaire, interview andmathematical statistics, through the investigation and study on the current situation ofcampus sports competition in10vocational colleges and universities in Changzhou, itconcludes that, campus sports competition in Changzhou vocational colleges anduniversities feature various forms, universal content, highlighting the occupation attributeand strengthening the construction of characteristic school. Meanwhile, campus sportscompetition in Changzhou vocational colleges and universities has the following effects:1.To promote physical health, to form lifelong sports;2. To guide moral perfection, to shapethe will quality;3. To auxiliary occupation ability training, to strengthen adaptive capacity. The vocational colleges and universities should allow more students to participate in thecampus sports organizations, to further expand the influence of campus sports competition,to strengthen the cultivation of students’ judgment of sports competition, to increase theinnovation of sports competition and reflect the charm of school campus sports culture ofall schools.
