The Research analyzes the assessment tendency of modern article reading test from four dimensions:task type, reading situation, text structure and question topic, as the reading test of grade six and grade nine of Hangzhou for sample. In hope that it can provide suggestion and reference for reading assessment and reading teaching of Chinese modern article.The thesis mainly includes the following several parts:The first part is the introduction, stating the research background, motivation and purpose of the study from three aspects:the importance of reading assessment, the consistency of the assessment, the target and the teaching and effectiveness of reading assessment in China.The second part is the research design, including the research process, research methods and framework, research object, research tools and the test of the reliability and validity.The third part is the results of the Research, analyzing the assessment tendency of modern article reading test from four dimensions:task type, reading situation, text structure and question topic.The fourth part is the conclusion and the suggestion, according to the results, we can make four conclusions:(1) the task type is uneven.(2)Reading situation is simple.(3)The understanding of the text structure is too narrow.(4)"Reflection and evaluation" mainly appear in the "essay question". According to the research conclusion, we put forward the following Suggestions:(1) changing the concept, referring to the understanding of the reading activity itself.(2) Reviewing goals, teaching and evaluation in the field of reading.(3) Suggestions for future research.
