Since reform of new curriculum in high school officially started,Shandong, Guangdong, Hainan and Ningxia were four provinces to first start reform.During the following6years,19provinces such as Jiangsu, Liaoning, Fujian, Zhejiang,Beijing, Hunan, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Hebei and Yunnan started reform by six batches.Since2010, Gansu, Chongqing, Sichuan also began to implement the new high schoolcurriculum reform, which meant the new high school curriculum reform had beenpromoted nationwide.There has been three years since the reform of the new curriculum of High schoolin Sichuan Province. Taking it into account, this study, with new curriculum of highschool art as the research objective, investigates and interviews art teachers and studentsfrom20senior middle schools in Chengdu City, Dazhou City, Panzhihua City, LeshanCity, Guangyuan City, Meishan city Zigong City, Jianyang City, Yibin City, XichangCity in Sichuan Province, aiming to know the real situation of implementation of thenew curriculum of High school art in Sichuan Province. Based on the analysis, someachievements of the implementation in Sichuan Province are summed, for example,change of teachers’ ideas, way of teaching and learning and way of evaluation, etc.Meanwhile, there are also some problems, such as slow implementation of fine arts newcurriculum, insufficient fine arts curriculum resources, new problems in the process ofimplementation and teaching, weak fine arts teaching evaluation, need of improvementof teachers’ professional development level, unbalance of fine arts new curriculumimplementation and development and big regional differences, etc. And the suggestionincludes: awareness of innovation, strengthening the teaching implementation of theperformance appraisal system, increasing funding art education, strengthening theconstruction of teaching facilities, enhancement of the professional literacy of art teachers, establishment of a school-based teaching and research system, using the socialteachers to establish art teachers’ teaching across school system, usage of nativeresources of Sichuan to develop school-based art curriculum with nationalcharacteristics, construction unit of the high school fine arts teaching mode based on avariety of types of courses, development of scientific evaluation tools, improvement ofteachers&high school fine arts students evaluation, improvement of teacher trainingtargeted and radiation effect of training, etc.
