Currently, the high school English teaching is undergoing a process of reform. Thenew curriculum reform proposed many new requirements about teaching. Senior high schoolEnglish teachers are required to hold the right teachers’ beliefs, and one of them is thebeliefs about students.This case study is a research on high school English teachers’ beliefs about students,and their behaviors in their teaching process based on these beliefs.This paper mainly focuson two different teachers’ beliefs about students, and through the ways of classroomobservation, journals analysis and interview, the author studies the following questions: whatbeliefs the teachers hold about their students, what are the two teachers’ main teachingbehaviors about students in their class and whether the teachers’ beliefs about their studentsare consistent with their teaching behaviors, if not, why? At the end of the thesis, theimplications are offered to help teachers to rebuild fresh beliefs about students.
