Enhance Empathy Of Male Violence Juvenile Delinquents By Group Counseling

Male violent juvenile delinquents are major group in juvenile reformatory. Their criminal means are more severity and make more harmful to society. These features leads violent juvenile delinquents’ management more challenge for juvenile reformatory, it cannot ignored while reformation of convicts.Selected18violent juvenile delinquents, and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group, the experimental group had group counseling.2members of experimental group quitted, there were7members finished the group training. According to the aspects of male violent juvenile delinquents researchers designed one set of courses for group counseling. The experimental group received intervention. Empathy had been double blind assessed by graduate school students major in Psychology. They assessed in pre-, post-test and follow-up test. After finishing the group training, researchers interviewed members of experimental group and their police officer. We can come to conclusion:1. Group counseling can enhance the cognitive empathy of male violent juvenile delinquents effectively, while their emotional empathy can enhance but did not changed significantly.2. Cognitive empathy of male violent juvenile delinquents enhanced in group counseling can maintain long-term effect.3. Cognitive empathy and emotional empathy can be assessed by others more objectively and effectively.
