Based on the documental analysis and field survey, this paper attempts to analyze the mating dilemma of female university graduates of countryside and seek a sociological explanation to this dilemma. First of all, this paper reviews the Chinese and Western studies about Mate selection problems and proposes the theory perspective:The Theory of "Field-Habitus". Thus, using case study and in-depth interviews, the author has an interview with11female university graduates of countryside who had the problem of mating dilemma. Further description of their characteristic, mate selection psychology which they had faced, and analyze their mating dilemma from three aspects which are concept of mate selection:mate selection range; mate selection preferences, the will to get married. At last, this paper will explain the mate selection dilemma and be promoted from Bourdieu’s Practice theory.The research shows that female university graduates of countryside face up with the problem of limited mate selection range, the comprised will to get married, and "ideal" mate selection preferences in the love field. Specifically, female university graduates of countryside had limited mate selection range, and the compromised will to get married between parents’will and their own will, and their complex mate selection preferences full of self-expectation of "ideal type" and modern social "realistic" mate selection. The female university graduates of countryside from countryside field to the cultural university field into the modern city field are influenced by field power, among each field so that have the mating dilemma on their process of socialization. From Bourdieu’s Practice theory, this paper try to make the following explanation about the mating dilemma:low economic capital, high cultural capital and weak social capital are limited to the mate selection suitable range of the female university graduates of countryside; the "ideal" mate selection preferences shaped by the cultural university field and "realistic" mate selection preferences shaped by the modern city field further increase the complexity of mate selection preferences; and their will to get married need to compromise with parents’will which increase the conflict of the will to get married. The female university graduates of countryside are based on their own capital and field power to practice mate selection, finally formed a "floating city" mate selection strategies that are also reflected concentrated the mating dilemma of female university graduates of countryside.
