Research On The Construction Of Regional Characteristic Research University

With the further development of higher education in china, has come the construction of some local universities in China in line with combined with regional economic development and local characteristics.The goal is to build Regional Characteristics Research University, which are strive Regional Universities to adapt to and serve the regional economic development. To research the internal construction of "characteristics" and"high level" of university has important practical significance to local university constructing High Level Regional Characteristic Research University.Firstly, this paper outlined the background of thesis research topic, studied and reviewed the status of Regional Characteristics Research Universities that focus on regional characteristics research both domestically in China and of domestic and abroad.The paper further defined the relevant concepts of the research topic and with higher education development theory and niche theory as the theoretical basis of this study.Secondly, starting from the practice of Guangxi University internal construction, studied the internal disciplines,teachers, personnel training and scientific research currently running in present situation of Guangxi University. The study found out the main problems existing in Guangxi University according to analysis and summary of literature and empirical research. There are unreasonable of discipline, structure is irrational and key disciplines are few, shortage of qualified personnel high level talent and should be strengthened of young teachers by training of young teachers, the less number of graduate students and should be perfected of training and management, less high level research base and non-perfect of scientific research management mechanism.Finally, through drawing on the advanced experience of domestic and foreign research university and several Midwest regional characteristic research universities’ experience, I have put forward suggestions to solve the problems of Guangxi University internal construction and speed up the construction pace of a High Level Regional Characteristic Research University. The Main recommendations are to improve the perfected subject system and academic planning,to focus on distinctive discipline construction and cultivation and on training of its own outstanding young teachers, diversified introduction of high-end talent, optimization of postgraduate students, and improve postgraduate cultivation and management, building construction of high level research base and improve perfected the scientific research management system.
