With the maturity of the mobile technology and deepening of mobile learningresearch and practice increasingly, seamless learning based on the mobile device willbecome the next focus of the mobile learning study. In this study, interactive responsesystem as a medium is designed, based on constructivist learning theory, activitytheory and group dynamics theory, to promote learners seamlessly continued learningas the ultimate goal. From the standpoint that cognitive interaction and emotionalinteraction of students are concordantly developed, we designed interactive responsesystem(IRS) in seamless learning environment to improve learners’ interpersonal andteamwork ability, enhance their sense of team, train the learners’ ability of reasonabletime planning and self-regulated learning, and promote the harmonious developmentof relations between learners and teachers. In this thesis, according to design idea and needs of teachers and students, combined with XMPP instant messaging protocol, open Openfire server, InternetInformation Services, File Transfer Services, and open application programminginterface-Android Smack, we designed and implemented interactive response systemin seamless learning environment based on PC and Android mobile phone. In this study, we selected appropriate instructional object and instructionalcontent, designed some appropriate online learning activities, so that interactiveresponse system is utilized in university teaching. Questionnaire based on technologyacceptance model and interview is designed to collect data. The results show that thestudents have higher acceptance on the IRS in seamless learning environment, it canimprove cognitive interaction and emotional interaction of students and it play apositive role in promoting for students’ effective learning.
