Research On The Studying Abroad Of Fengtian Province In The Late Qing Dynasty And The Early Republican China

Studying abroad history is an important component of Chinese modern history. Thestudying abroad movement of modern China dated from sending young children toAmerica in the period of the Qing government’ westernization movement. Subsequently,studying abroad became a trend, domestic young students went abroad in succession tothe eastern and western countries to explore advanced scientific culture and technology,in order to contribute to the country after returning in the future. The development of thestudying abroad had an extremely far-reaching influence on promoting the developmentof all aspects of modern Chinese society.In the late Qing Dynasty, the fact that the culture was not opened and other factorsmade the studying abroad of Fengtian province started later than other areas, even so, asan integral part of Chinese modern studying abroad history, to Fengtian province,northeast China and even the whole country, the impact from the studying abroad ofFengtian province in the late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republican China could not beneglected, and the meaning was also significant. Studying abroad has trained manyexcellent studying abroad talents for modern northeast, they not only brought new ideas,new technology, new atmosphere, and also has an indelible contribution on promotingthe various undertakings’ development of modern northeast. This paper is positionedfrom the late Qing Dynasty to the Early Republican China (before“the September18thincident”in1931)，this paper mainly discusses three parts, the emergence background andthe development and the significance of the studying abroad of Fengtian province duringthis period, focusing on the development of the studying in Japan, Europe and Americaof Fengtian province in the late Qing Dynasty and the Early Republican China in everydifferent period, revealing the development trajectory of the studying abroad of Fengtianprovince in the period, and summary the historical influence, experience and lessonsfrom the studying abroad of Fengtian province, in order to benefit us.
