Suicidal ideation is someone who ideologically and cognitively has the idea of taking his or her life, which is the early psychological activity of suicide. Review of the literature found that life events and coping styles were the pivotal influencing factors of suicidal ideation, and rarely scholars revealed the relationship between the three. Therefore, this study aims to explore the characteristics, relationships of college students’life events, coping styles and suicidal ideation, and execute group intervention for them.Research1:A total of793college students from Guangxi Province were administrated using Adolescent Life Event Scale designed by Liu Xiancheng, Coping Style Questionnaire by Xiao Jihua and Suicidal ideation Scale by Xia Chaoyun. This study aims to probe the difference in the demographic variables of life events, coping styles and suicidal ideation of college students.Research2:To investigate the relationship among life events, coping styles and explicit suicidal ideation of college students.Research3:To discuss the relationship among life events, coping styles and implicit suicidal ideation of college students,113subjects from Guangxi University were tested using IAT and a questionnaire survey. Research4:In order to reduce college students suicide ideation,30participants having higher scores of suicidal ideation were conducted group intervention experiment based on positive psychology. Findings are as follows:1. Major life events of college students are:academic stress and interpersonal relationship. When facing life events, college students first adopt the way of problem solving.2. Survey found that the incidence of college students; explicit suicide ideation was9.0%, the male had a significantly higher incidence of explicit suicide ideation. There was a marginal significance of incidence of explicit suicide ideation among grades, senior was the highest, followed by junior, sophomore and freshman.3. Life events, coping styles and explicit suicidal ideation had different degree of correlation. The positive coping styles and interpersonal relationship, academic stress, punishment, other and loss had significant negative correlation, positive coping styles and health adaption had significant positive correlation,explicit suicidal ideation and positive had negative significantly correlation; negative coping styles and life events had positive significantly correlation. Explicit suicidal ideation and interpersonal relationship, academic stress, punishment, other and loss had significant positive correlation; explicit suicidal ideation and negative coping styles had significantly positive correlation. Coping styles partly mediated life events and explicit ideation. 4. Implicit suicidal ideation was not significantly related to life events and coping styles; implicit suicidal ideation and explicit suicidal ideation had a separation phenomenon.5. Positive orientation group intervention could significantly reduce the suicide ideation.
