Ye Shengtao is a Chinese educator who has an great contribution and far-reaching impactin the history of our country education. In his seventy years of Chinese education career, hehas put forward many insightful opinions in reading teaching.Based on the understanding of the concept of "teaching method "this thesis conducts acomprehensive interpretation to Ye Shengtao from the guiding ideology of reading teaching,process of reading, guidance way of reading teaching. And it also analyses the contemporaryvalue of Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method.Introduction: Makes an explanation of selected topic. It summarizes the achievement ofYe Shengtao reading teaching method, and defines the core concept of "teaching method".This thesis attempts to analysis Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching methods from “the guidingideology of teaching","teaching process" and "teaching mode" three levels.The first chapter: The background of Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method. China is intransition from the old era in Twentieth century, social, political and economic aspects havetaken earth-shaking change. Excellent traditional culture and the advanced emerging culturelaid the foundation for Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method.The second chapter: The guiding thought method in Ye shengtao’s reading teaching.“Teaching is to don’t need to teach” is the practice experience of Ye shengtao’s lifelongeducation, and it’s also the supreme guiding ideology of Chinese teaching. And it is theguiding principle of dealing with the relationship between "teaching" and "learning" the usageand handling of teaching materials. The principle of "the essence of reading is a process oftwo-way communication" determines that if we want to develop great reading teaching, wemust correctly handle the dialogue process between the reader and the text, and the dialogueprocess between the readers and readers;"The purpose of reading teaching is to cultivate goodhabits and ability of reading " which pointed out the correct way of reading teaching andguidance.The third chapter: The process of Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching methods. It is dividedinto three stages which are preparation, discussion and practice. There’s a detailedintroduction of the importance of each stage in the formation of reading ability, and the content and problems of the three stages.The fourth chapter: Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching methods. First, I summarize YeShengtao’s reading teaching methods as three categories which are "intensive reading","skimming method","reference reading", discuss the meaning and characteristics of"intensive reading" and "skimming”. I select "chanting method","assessing method" and"appreciation" from the "intensive reading", and select "speed reading", and "notes method"from "skimming" as examples to make a detailed introductionThe fifth chapter: the contemporary value of Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method. Hisreading teaching method is always feasible, and it just similar to the new curriculum standard.Qian Menglong and Wei Shusheng are the outstanding representatives of contemporaryfamous masters who benefit from Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method. In the process ofreading teaching which guided by Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching methods, we should payattention to the truly heuristic teaching, and grasp the nature and characteristics of Chinesesubject.Conclusion: This thesis summarizes Ye Shengtao’s reading teaching method, and reflectthe problems which existing in the research, tries to provide some experience and referencefor follow-up studies.And we want to make some efforts to promote the development ofreading teaching reform.
