Hainanese has long been a vital element of Hainan regional culture. It remains the charmof ancient Chinese, while tinged with marine culture, reflecting the wisdom and life ofHainan people. It could be regarded as a living fossil for the history and culture ofHainan.However, with the government’s promotion of mandarin, the rapid development ofsociety and economy in Hainan, as well as diversified orientation of social-culture,Hainanese has gradually become marginalized among the youth, while the influence of itbecoming weaker and weaker in recent years. The culture inheritance of Hainanese facescrisis, which against the creation of unique culture during the construction of internationaltourist island of Hainan. At present, although the government has paid more attention to thestudy of Hainanese, relevant works on the promotion of learning it among the youngergeneration are still not enough. The teaching on Hainan dialect and culture has not beennoticed as well.This paper is based on the requirement of actual development of Hainan and theall-round development of students, with Linguistic Relativity and School-based CurriculumDevelopment theories as basis, it explores the feasibility and teaching strategies of bringingHainanese into school-based curriculum development.The introduction mainly explains the background and the research status, and expoundsthe goal and the significance of the research as well as related concepts.Chapter One indicates the unique values of Hainanese and the culture of Hainan throughdocumentation. It gives a research and analysis the status quo of the teaching ofHainanese andHainan’s culture, revealing the emergency and necessity for improvement.Chapter Two researehes the development and implement of dialect education in Chinathrough documentation and investigation on the internet. It discusses the integration of dialecteducation and school-based curriculum according to the document ‘Guidance on thedevelopment and management of School-based Curriculum of Primary and SecondarySchools in Hainan Province’,issued by the Education Department. It provides the theoreticalbasis for the development and implement of Hainanese education. In the third chapter, I carry out a comparative study on existing development schemes forschool-based curriculum of Hainanese in Hainan. Discussion and summary will be made fromthree aspects such as the setting of course goals, the choice of teaching content and theapplication of teaching method.In the fourth chapter, based on the study, it explores specific teaching strategy during theprocess of development and implement of Hainanese education in the School-basedCurriculum of Primary and Secondary Schools in Hainan Province, demonstrated from threeaspects: oral training, reading appreciation and comprehensive writing.
