The Reason Analysis Of Middle School Biology Teachers’Professional Knowledge Defect

Today’s world, governments pay more attention to education for the future development of the countries. People pay more and more attention to teachers’ professional knowledge in teachers’ diathesis.This study summed up a few core parts of teachers’ professional knowledge by reading and analyzing relevant literatures. The core parts are subject knowledge, curriculum knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, knowledge about students and so on. Then we took an investigation of high school biology teachers’ and normal students’ teacher professional knowledge by a questionnaire survey. The results showed that the in-service teachers’ professional knowledge of teachers could match job requirements and the normal students’ teacher professional knowledge is weak. Then, this study selected the wrong answers from the questions which few people could answer correctly in the questionnaire as research topics. We summarized the characteristics of these wrong answers, tried to analyze the causes of the wrong answers and found when the teachers should have learned the knowledge involved. As a result, we found that the lack of pedagogical content knowledge, the bad understanding of the new curriculum and textbooks, the lack of educational theory study and communication of high school biology teachers’ caused the lack of teachers’ professional knowledge through the conclusions above.Finally, we made recommendations which includes increasing the practical courses and updating theoretical courses of normal university students’, taking more emphasis on the teaching process of the normal university students, enhancing the in-service teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and education theoretical level to enrich the teachers’ professional knowledge.
