In2008,after being the president of the United States of America, Barack Obamaputs forward a series of education reform blueprint of which the teacher education isone of the four pillars. The Obama Administration has passed a serious of policies ofteacher. According to funding and implementing these policies,the teacher educationof America is developing rapidly.Taking a systematic research on the teacher policy ofthe Obama Administration can help us to learn its new characteristics and thechallenges faced in the process of development.The paper consists of five parts:Part One is introduction. This part is to introduce the reason and the significanceof the research, summarize the literature review at home and abroad,define the coreconcept,and detail the ideas and methods using in this research.Part Two is the background. This part is to introduce the background of theteacher policy of Obama Administration including the economic, political, andeducational background.Part Three is to analyze the main content and the basic philosophies of ObamaAdministration’s teacher policy.Part Four is to reveal the characteristics of the Obama Administration’s teachereducation policy, including the aspects of federal management,investment, policysuccession,democracy, value-added assessment, teacher residency and teacher status.Part Five is to describe the evaluation of the Obama Administration’s teachereducation policy,including confirming the positive contributions and pointing out thechallenges confronted with in the process of development.
