Recently, the increasing class problem behavior with various features in high grade primary school has seriously affected teaching orders and efficiency, and the physical and mental development of students. The class behavior problems arose among high grade primary students are different from those among low grade ones. As a result, a targeted study on class problem behavior is urgently needed by primary level schools. This study is designed to investigate the class problem behavior of high grade students in Experimental Elementary School of Hunjiang Area, Baishan City and analyze its features and causes. Atheoretical conclusion will be drawn, which will be used in instructing teachers in making a quick and accurate judgment about the problem behavior in class and young teachers how to increase the efficiency of teaching and class management.Elementary School of Hunjiang Area, Baishan City was chosen to do the questionnaire survey, observatory experiment and so on. The experiment results show that pupils in this school have the following features:It is a common problem with diverse kinds among a high percentage of pupils; most of the problem behavior is of lesser degree, with the serious degree ones composing a small proportion; different class problems occur at different times, giving them a periodical feature; boy pupils are more likely to have problem behavior than girls and the former tend to have extroversive behavior problems while the latter introversive ones.The causes of class problem behavior are as follows:in terms of pupils, they are affected by mental and physical factors; in terms of teachers, wrong teaching rationales, low teaching level, inadequate teaching abilities, and a lack of professional ethics, all contribute to the rising in class problem behavior; in terms of school environment, the main factors including the outdoor noises, the light and tidiness indoors, class size, seat arrangement; in terms of family environment, the structure of the family, the way of being brought up and the atmosphere in family are the main factors; in terms of society, the harmful information in media plays an important role.Based on the investigation and analysis, the thesis come up with several countermeasures, which include mental and physical cultivation for pupils, training in teachers’teaching and management abilities, enhancing school environment, strengthening the combination between family and social education, to change the status quo of class problem behavior among high grade pupils in primary schools.
