Typical education is a kind of effective education method that is widely used. It is mainly applied to the ideological guidance and the process of moral quality training, and is one of the fine tradition of the Chinese communist party to carry out ideological and political education works. Typical education is also the important method and the indispensable means to strengthen and improve moral education among students in colleges and universities. It fits the needs of the psychological development of the young undergraduates, and meets the needs of college students’ all-round development. Students guided with positive typical noble morality and exemplary behaviors shapes good morality. And alert bell would be sounded though the analysis of opposite typical examples that prevents and suppresses the tendency to go wrong. However, the typical education in higher-school education is becoming less effective with the emergence of the new situations such as the constant deepening of reform and opening up in our country, the influx of various foreign thoughts, the diversification of social value orientation, the enhancement of the students’ self-consciousness and the lack of creativetypical education methods. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the theoretical research and practical exploration of typical education exploration in the new historical context.This study mainly expounds the related theory of typical education, pointing out its indispensable function and value in college and university moral education, and analyses the problems and reasons which exist in the current typical education in college and university moral education, and puts forward some countermeasures to enhance the effectiveness of typical education according to the emerging situation.This Paper starts with the introduction to sort out the achievements of research status on typical education both domestic and overseas, and moves forward to the methods applied and its writing purpose in this paper.This paper consists of four parts: The first part defines relevant concepts of moral education, the college and university moral education, typical education and the typical moral education in higher schools. Upon the reorganization of the interrelated theories of the moral education in higher schools and the typical education established the theoretical foundation of the rest of the article.The second part analyses the status and function of typical education in higher-school moral education. It tried to claim the value of typical education though the analysis of two main aspects: the function of moral education of the typical education itself, and the demands for typical education in higher-school moral education, and help promoting a better comprehension of the role that typical education plays in higher-school moral education.The third part mainly based on the already-existing problems in current typical education method among moral education in colleges and universities. Analysis has been carried on through multiple ways. And this part is the key to manifest the value of this paper. Now typical education seems to have turned from the ever "mass response" to "ignoring", or even provokes conflict, but only if we really dig out the deeper reason for the weak of typical education can we suit the remedy to the case and put forward the corresponding improvement measures.The fourth part came up with effective ways to enhance the implementation of typical education in higher-school moral education, and this part weighs.This paper is based on the realities, and puts forward relevant requirements from some aspects of the selection, cultivation, propaganda, guidance and study of typicality in itself. combined with the education content, typical propaganda and the educational subject to illustrate the effectiveness of the typical education. the paper is for the purpose of interpreting maximal value of typical education.
