Continuously enhancement on the economic effect from educational activities, exploration of the economics of education is increasingly becoming the academic hot spot. After30years’development on economics, economics of education is to flourish, this mainly shows the rapid growth in the academic literature. In the development trend, rendering and interpretation of the Chinese educational economics research frontier and the evolution of knowledge map, not only do conducive to the discipline to learn from past experience in academic research, but also it clarify the future direction of development of the discipline. However, the researchers subjective experience-based research forefront of discrimination, not only the large amount of labor, and vulnerable to the impact of individual experience, it is difficult to objectively, accurately, quickly dig out from the vast amounts of documents and information front and discipline commanding heights. According to the theories and methods of the subject knowledge map,1980-2010China Education Economics Papers included in the China Academic Journal Full-text database as a data sample, the use of the ROST CM, Bibexce, CiteSpace II data mining and visualization software, the data collected by literature co-citation analysis, cluster analysis can map out education research frontier in economics and evolution of the knowledge map, knowledge map is no longer a simple list or statistics of a large number of literature information, however, it can find the Chinese education of Economics and is the effective carrier of the forefront of evolutionary logic.This paper found that:Economics of China’s educational research has been focused on learning a foreign classic theoretical results, the research on human capital and the return to education is the forefront of the reality of the economics of education, research on education costs and tuition fees is the field of economics of education need to further deepen the research front, on the balanced development of education, basic education and rural education research is the field of economics of education need to further tap the research front, gradual increment of the reality of the research topics, research topics showing dynamic changes, research topics the correlation is gradually enhanced. By means of quantitative knowledge mapping, visualization methods, combined with the qualitative, inductive method of the author of this article, this article provides a new perspective and platform distinguish the Chinese education research frontier.
