A Study On The Status Of Enrolling New Students And Its Countermeasures Of The Physical Culture And Sports School Of Jilin Province

In order to make the Physical Culture and Sports School of Jilin Province (Jilin Sports School/the school) have sustainable development and suit the new realities of the21st century, the problems of "difficult to enrol new students" and "difficult to select telents" have been analysed. The methods of document material, questionnaire survey, Delphi and logic analysis have been adopted in writing the thesis. The status of enrolling new students of the school has been studied and the following conclusion has been drawn.1. Jilin Sports School has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development of competitive sports of the province. A legion of high level reserve athletes have made excellent achievements in the key games in and abroad, some of the events have already got international fame.2. Now, the school faces the problems of unreasonable setting and the layout of the sports teams and sporting events. They are not planned as the Program for Winning Honors in Olympics. The quality of the enrolled students and the sports level are relatively low. It’s short of funds investment. Some of the sports venues and apparatus facilities are behind the times. The capabilities of the coaches are relatively low. The management and the logistic service for the students need to be improved and perfected urgently.3. The quality of the enrolled students is low. Among the students, the ones who are really gifted and can pick gold and silver medals in national games are few. We must strengthen training and coaching for the coaches who are lack of experiences in managing a team. Doing this way will enable the athletes of high level to have systematic and scientific training.4. The comprehensive quality of the coaches of the school needs to be improved. They are lack of systematic study, training and advanced studies. Because of this, the period of transforming from Traditional Type to Professional Type is prolonged.In order to make the school have sustainable development, suggestions are given according to the current circumstances and existing problems of the school.1. The school should therefore raise the construction degree, especially the facilities for the key events and the advantageous sports events. More funds should be invested to the advantageous events, adopting the model of combination of sports and education in a persistent way. In a couple of years, the model of "training, learning and managing" will be formed. More funds should also be applied to special training venues and their hardware construction. Policy on enrollment should be made in order to prevent the potential and high-level reserve talents from losing.2. The school must keep the concept of running the school with sustainable development. Jilin Sports School will do its best to solve the knotty problems in the course of development under the leadership of the provincial Party Committee, the provincial Government, the Sports Bureau of Jilin Province, Jilin Sports College, and with the help, careness and assistance of the leaders concerned and even of the people of all walks of life. New opinions, decisions, planning and guidance are needed as soon as possible.3. Jilin Sports School will do the job of enrolling new students and selecting talents well, train and give lectures to the coaches to raise their ability of professional skills, and enrich their professional knowledge. Therefore, the competition score of the athletes will sure be raised. The school will try to have investment from social forces to ease the shortage of special funds, make arduous efforts to make the school have sustainable development.4. Jilin Sports School will continuously research on setting a model of training competitive sports reserve talents. It will be fully comply with the trend of competitive sports development for intematinal teen-agers nowadays.
