As a new historical research methods,“Mutual reflection of literature andhistory” attracted the attention of the majority of scholars in the study of modernhistory, and many related papers have been published, also it is concerned andadvocated for the teachers in the history teaching. With a long history behind thehumans life.Poetry, novels and other literary works as vast as the smoke and sea, theyare artistic portrayal of human history. Each poem and every novel are all reflectedthe living life of people and social culture in that present and that time, so it is theliving materials of historical researching and history teaching.With the further undertaking of the new curriculum, history teaching is greateremphasis on the use of historical records in history teaching and cultivation ofstudents ’ ability. Historical thinking skills are important elements of fostering anddeveloping students ’ abilities in the teaching of history, which is the core of thediscipline of subject ability of history.“Mutual reflection of literature and history” hasgreat significance to cultivate students ’ thinking ability in the application of historyteaching. This paper seeks to be adopted case studies and interviews of teachers todiscuss the effectiveness and situation of using “Mutual reflection of literature andhistory” in the high school history teaching,and then bring the strategies that “Mutualreflection of literature and history” can improve high school students’ historicalthinking ability.In this study,I adopt documents,the case method, the observational method andthe way of visiting to collect a number of relevant documents and study the subjectsystematically. Case studies is the focus of this study.I selected four cases by thenetwork and visiting a class in a Middle School which located in Lanzhou.These fourcases are "New Culture Movement","the economic policy of ancient China","Sino-Japanese War and Siege of the International Legations" and"literary boom".Front three parts of the article are introduction, review of studies and anexposition that the possibility of the utilize “Mutual reflection of literature andhistory” in history teaching; The fourth section shows the situation of usage about the utilize “Mutual reflection of literature and history” in history teaching by talking totwo history teachers,analyzing some cases and reflecting on.The fifth part discussesthe strategies which can improve the students’thinking ability of history in terms of“the cultivation of image-thinking ability of history”,“the training of historicallogical thinking ablity” and “the construction of intuitional thinking ability ofhistory”.Part six is research findings and consideration.
