Research On Behavior Integration Of Involuntary Bachelors In Rural China

The boy preference in the traditional society of China and prenatal sex determination and selective abortion with medical technology, Ultimately leading to male squeeze in the marriage market in China. According to marriage migration and mate gradient theory, the Marriage squeeze converge to the economically undeveloped area and resource depletion region,the number of involuntary bachelor who is a new vulnerable groups more and more huge. Social integration is prequisite to social support. An individual’s social integration will be beneficial to prevent them from crime. What’s more, social integration is beneficial to one’s physical and psychologial health. Under this backgroud, this thesis focus on behavior integration and its influential factors of rural involuntary bacehlors in China.The data comes from "gender imbalance and social stability" survey organized by this issue group from November2009to March2010across the country. The author attempts to examine behavior integration status and factors of involuntary bachelors. From existing research, we use network size and logotektonik of the social support network measure the characteristics of quantity and quality of the behavior integration. Respectively from the angle of marital status and regional difference, this thesis analyzes the current situation and influential factors of rural involuntary bacehlors’s behavior integration. And this thesis will propose some public policies to promote rural involuntary bacehlors’s behavior integration and social integration based on former research conclusions.The main conclusions of this paper include:(1)The status of involuntary bacehlors’s behavior integration is worse than married men.But the reason of the discrepancy between them is not the difference of marry status.(2) Regional factors have a significant influence on behavior integration, eastern involuntary bacehlors behavior integration status is the worst.(3) Involuntary bachelors’s emotional support is weak, the spirit level of integration is more difficult.Because of lack the most intimate wife to be an object of affective interaction, high level of involuntary bachelors’s spirit integration is more difficult, the emotion is deserted.(4) Personal factors, such as education background, work in the other place, personality, income, the number of brothers and sisters have significant effects on rural involuntary bachelors’social capital.Family factors, such as whether relatives are working in the government or people belong to large family, have the same effect. If involuntary bachelor with characteristic of high-degree, work in the other place, outgoing personality, higher income, relatives serving in the government and belonging to large family, he will possess abundant behavior integration.
