Nowadays, an increasing number of students choose to study abroadannually. With the rapid increase of Chinese overseas students, overseasstudents have become an important research subject of the interculturalresearchers. This empirical research is designed to study the relationshipsbetween intercultural sensitivity (ICS) and psychological well-being(PWB) based on an investigation in Chinese overseas students inAustralia.In this research, the24-item,5-Likert Intercultural Sensitivity Scale(ISS) of Chen Guoming and Starosta is applied to measure ICS and the18-item,6-Likert Scales of Psychological Well-Being (SPWB) of Ryff isapplied to measure PWB. Data collected by ISS and SPWB is systemizedby Excel and analyzed by SPSS18.0. Normal distribution analysis,descriptive analysis, Pearson Correlation analysis, and regression analysisare conducted to the collected data. The research results indicate that:1. The general ICS and PWB situations of all Chinese overseasstudents studying in Australia are comparatively satisfactory;2. A relatively high positive correlation exists between ICS and PWB;3. There are positive correlations between some of the5factors ofICS and the6dimensions of PWB.Based on the research findings, suggestions are given to students whoplan to study abroad to improve their interaction confidence, interactionattentiveness and self-acceptance.
