While the implementation of the new round curriculum reform has provided abroad stage for teachers’ teaching innovation. At the same time, the traditionalgeography teaching began to face the challenge of the era. New curriculum reform inthe process of teaching students’ knowledge not only teach students how to learn, butalso let the students master the skills in the process of learning, cultivating thestudents’ emotions, attitudes and values at the same time, asking for the renewal fromteaching aims and concepts to teaching content, methods and evaluation. Conceptualmap, a kind of cognitive tool to signify, check, mend and perfect knowledges, lines allkinds of concepts and their relations in stratified structure similar to the knowledgestorage in the brain, and clearly reveals the essence of meaning construction.Cooperative learning has a significant effect on the teaching design, class teaching,teaching reflection, and promotes the development of students’ thinking and problemsolving. Based on the good master of conceptual map teaching theories and theimplementation of the new curriculum reform, this research tries to supply a neweffective and practicable method for innovating the senior high school geographyclass teaching through the application of conceptual map.Firstly, after introducing the connotation, characteristics and function ofconceptual map and the present research state, this article arms to find thecorresponding theoretical basis and its own theoretical system. Secondly, combiningwith the features of high school geography subject to analyze the advantages ofconceptual map in the geography class teaching, from two aspects of teachers’teaching and students’ learning, and the teachers’ teaching design, class teaching,reflection after class and students’ reflection on the preparation before class, classlearning and after class review this paper analyzes and summarizes the application ofconceptual map effectively in the high school geography classroom. Finally, thispaper also summarizes the limitations and attentive matters in the application ofconceptual map in high school geography classroom. In addition, this paper alsopreliminarily explore the Inspiration7.6software to make up some geographical conceptual maps.The research shows that conceptual map can promote students how to study, howto get a substantial increase in marks, and how to enhance the quality of geographyteaching. Meanwhile, the conceptual map can also help teachers change the teachingidea to improve their teaching abilities. Problems and deficiencies remaining in thisresearch still need to be further studied and perfected in the future.
