Modern prose teaching in high school new curriculum standard proposed pay attention to thedevelopment of language application, aesthetic ability and promote students’ individualitydevelopment of balanced and have the requirements, in the current high school Chinese teaching,however, most modern prose teaching is faced with problems, the situation is the most difficultpart.In this thesis, the status of the teaching of reading from a survey of high school to start amodern prose, from the perspective of the students and teachers of the viewpoints of both to findthe current teaching of modern prose reading a lot of problems exist, there are quite a lot ofproblems in students, to meet modern prose is not clear, for example, has no interest in modernprose reading, etc., teachers, the starting point of modern prose teaching old single, don’t payattention to the requirement of new curriculum reform, is difficult to have the teaching methodreform and innovation, and so on. Then, according to the reading teaching in high school Chineseteaching of modern prose’s weight, clear modern prose reading teaching plays an important part insenior high school Chinese reading teaching. Finally, in view of the problems found during theinvestigation, the paper puts forward to "the ordinary high school language curriculum standard"as a guide, on the premise of change teachers’ ideas, from two aspects: teaching content andteaching method, to "inside and outside class both, read, write, read, speak, play and practice thediverse union" of the teaching reform, and put forward specific strategies of high school readingteaching of modern prose.
