Community correction workers undertake most of the community correction work, and they also guarantee the implement of the community correction effectively. Community correction workers play an important role in promoting the development of community correction system. But there are many local judicial institutions had a high rate of losing community correction workers in the practice of community correction. The low degree of professional identity about the community correction workers is the main reason of this problem. By reviewing the existing literature, most of the researchers put perspective on the type, name, operating mode or the code of conduct about the community correction workers, not from the psychological and behavioral level to analyze the professional identity of the community correction workers. And most of the research is based on the empirical description analysis, positivism research is scanty. Based on this, the study attempts to explore the community correction staff professional identity by using quantitative research methods to explore the factors contribution to professional identity among community corrections staff. Comparing the differences about community correction worker’s professional identity on the demographic variables, and find the factors that affect the professional identity of the community correction workers.Through arranging the domestic and western literature related to professional identity and community correction workers, referencing the results of the past research, then combined with the actual situation of this survey, finally on the basis of empirical research, we described the status of community correction workers’professional identity about H province. This study compared the differences of community correction workers’ professional identity on the demographic variables by using independent sample T test and multivariate analysis. It also did a multiple regression to analyze the factors which impact the community correction workers’ professional identity by taking the socio-demographic characteristics, job characteristics, organizational factors as independent variables, with the professional attitude, professional emotional, professional values and professional behavior tendencies as the dependent variable.This study has made the following findings, as expected, job characteristics included job autonomy and role clarity tended to produce greater professional identity, whereas role conflict, job stress tended to reduce professional identity. Organizational factors included formalization, communication, distributive justice, perceived promotional opportunities tended to produce greater professional identity, and the position of workplace also had a significant relationship with community correction worker’s professional identity. Married and non-party member workers were subjected to a higher level of professional identity than the masses and unmarried correctional workers. Lower level of education attainment was also subjected to a higher level on professional identity than higher level of education attainment.
