With the speeding up of urbanization in our country, the floating population’s scale increased rapidly, The left-behind children this group increased.The government, academia and even the society given more and more attention to the left-behind children. Left-behind children healthy growth and effectively to adapt to the social environment, depends on the left-behind children’s own social adaptation ability. This study attempts to make exploratory research on the left-behind children’s social adaptation ability including family adaptation, interpersonal adaptation, school adaptation, self adaptation,analyses the influencing factors and puts forward some feasible suggestions and proposals.Survey sample from Hu bei province Qichun and Huangpi,The investigation of left behind children by self compiled questionnaire and social adaptability scale.The results show that:In the family adaptation, the left behind children in the independent ability of life performance is good, the housework ability is higher than the non left behind children;left-behind children Shows have Poor adaptability to family relations And the relatively simple communication content whit those parents and guardians, Tend to communicate with those mother. In terms of academic adaptation, the overall adaptability of left behind children is lower than that of non left behind children, and most of the left behind children lack good learning habits;In interpersonal adaptation, the left behind children are less than the non left behind children, less interaction with the people, silence and loneliness, the sense of trust of strangers is low;In self adaptation, left behind children self evaluation is low, there is no confidence, loneliness, inferiority complex. But the resilience of left behind children is more excellent, they have better self-control, flexible adaptation, and strive to make progress.Compared with the non left behind children, the social adaptation ability of the left behind children is slightly inadequate, but the overall social adaptability is good.The research suggests that self,family,school and society affect left-behind children’s social adaptability in varying degrees.And good psychological resilience is the key to improve the adaptability of the left behind children.Mental resilience is one of the reason why there’s no significant difference between the left behind children and the non left behind children.and the main reason why there’s difference between left behind children’s social adaptability.
