The mass line is the base of Chinese Communist Party and is also the source of power. With the development of Chinese revolution and construction, represented by Mao Zedong, the Chinese Communist Party combined with the actual, constantly try to complete the mass line content, and finally make it become the Party’s basic route.The paper takes the mass line as the research object, taking Shanghai as the template, based on the Marxism epistemology views, through analyzing a large amount of historical data, inspecting the practice of the mass line in Shanghai in early years of New China. In the process of analysis, the author thinks that in the early years of new China, practice of the mass line in Shanghai mainly reflects three aspects. Firstly, pay attention to train a large number of people from the bottom of the society. Secondly, attach importance to survey, the broad masses of party members always going to the crowd to get the truth. Thirdly, to do a lot of extensive propaganda work, through various channels to explain policies to the crowd for popularization.Standing at a new starting point, we research the practice of the mass line in Shanghai in early years of New China is very important, which has reference significance for our Party at present stage. First of all, strengthening the education of Marxist masses theory, making the Party members sets up serving people viewpoints; Second, focus on the grass-roots work, helping masses solve difficulties; Third, building multivariate interactive platforms, to keep communication between masses and Party cadres; Fourth, further strengthening the Party’s style construction; The last, perfecting the supervision mechanism, making power run in the sun.
