The increasing need of human-beings for energy has given the nature a growing burden, as a result this, the earth is getting warmer, biological diversity is threatened seriously. However,this problem can be easily solved if people can accept nuclear power as a key part of the mix energy system and take the place of fossil fuels such as oil, coal.Nuclear safety is the first priority in the development of nuclear power, and it cannot be possible with out a nuclear power supervision legal system which is critical and technical. Some countries and areas have recognized and developed the supervision legal system of nuclear power, such as the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, America, etc. In these countries the nuclear power industry has developed for a long time, relative theories and practices are more mature,such as how to set up the regulatory system and the regulators. But in China the field of nuclear power supervision legal system starts late, the exploration of the validity and legal consequences of the subject is not comprehensive, and the theory is not so much, mostly just a rough cover without a systemic research. In view of the wide-ranging content of the subject and closely relation to the substantive law, this paper is going to give an open view of the nuclear power supervision legal system of British.as the first country to enter the field of commercial nuclear power successfully, the first to use nuclear power to create electricity, supply this power continuously for many years and made the nuclear power on the grid, the first to complete the whole cycle of the nuclear power operation, the country which has attracted large-scale nuclear power investment from Chinese recently, the United Kingdom restarted its nuclear plans after a long suspend of nuclear power programs. In this paper,we try to finger out what the nuclear power supervision legal system of the United Kingdom really are, analysis the five system of nuclear power respectively:mining system, the system of nuclear materials and equipment trade, radioactive materials system, the system of nuclear Installations, the system of liability for damage. On the basis of summing up the regulations of every system,we will find which body has the specific regulatory responsibilities and what the responsibilities really are. So the advantages and defects of the legal nuclear regulatory system will be saw easily. Comparing with these advantages,the disadvantages of this system in China will be very obvious,how to perfect this system of China by learning lessons from the experience of the United Kingdom? Only optimize nuclear power supervision laws and regulations system, strengthen the construction of nuclear power regulator and team, make the work of nuclear safety regulation keeping up with the rapid pace of nuclear power construction, and the nuclear power market potential will be fully excavated.
