The Political Relations Between Malaysia And Chinese Since The 21^st Century

After the end of the cold war, China and Malaysia political relations have made great progress, and after entering the 21 st century, political and personnel exchanges become more frequent, some important political documents have been signed,bilateral relations have been further deepened. This paper including four parts, the first part is the background analysis of Malaysia’s political relation with China,which introduced Malaysia’s overview and the political relationship between China and Malaysia in 20 th century.The second part introduced the overview of Malaysia’s political relation with China since the 21 st century and pointed out that features of China and Malaysia relationship in this time, this including the broaden and deepen of cooperation,strengthen of multilateral doctrine factors,and more focused on strategy planning and dialogue and the application of consultations way.The third part is the analysis of the influencing factors of 21 st century Malaysia’s political relation with China in the international system level,national level and decision makers’ level. In international levels, we can see the deep change of international system is the international background of Malaysia’s political relation with China.One super power and some strong power,the rise of China and the strengthen of United States in Asia regional power are prompted Malaysia to take a strategy which like contact policy but more conservative toward China.In national levels,Malaysia’s domestic political power have been changed, People Union has been a big threat to the national front’s ruling status. In policymakers’ level,Najib has an international vision and more friendly to China. The last part is the conclusion which pointed out there are some difficulties in the Malaysia’s political relation with China and future development.Through the analysis of Malaysia’s political relation with China at various levels, we can see that China and Malaysia emphasized multilateral actions in international intercourse, emphasized the two sides coordinated to promote regional integration in Asia, to seek common development. By further deepening China and Malaysia in the international system and working together in theinternational institutions, strengthen dialogue and consultation and strategic planning in 21 st century,China and Malaysia will construct a deeper ties under the background of regional cooperation.
