Study On Problems And Countermeasures Of Government Performance Evaluation Of Zibo

Government performance evaluation is an effective means in government management. It plays an important role in improving government performance and making better government image. In recent years, many local governments applied government performance evaluation in government management and achieved good results. However, the government performance evaluation in our country is still in the exploratory stage. It also has many problems to be solved. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a scientific and effective system in accordance with the local situation in the base of the domestic and international performance evaluation theory and our own practice.Through active participation, the author has fully understood that the government performance evaluation of Zibo city has made great achievements in recent years. Due to the subjective and objective conditions, the government performance evaluation of Zibo still has many imperfections which have hindered the role of performance evaluation. It is a big question for Zibo government that how to make the government performance evaluation meet the development of the economic society and the changing of the government’s function. So the research of this paper can play a big role in this field and the real society.Take Zibo city as an example, this paper studies the performance evaluation of local government by using several research methods,such as investigation method, literature research method and so on. It also gives a clear explanation about the significance of the government performance evaluation. Besides, this article introduces the procedure, the current situation, the main achievements and the current problems of the government performance evaluation in Zibo. And it analyzes the reasons that bring about problems in Zibo government performance evaluation, including value orientation, lacking democratic development, institutional arrangement and so on. On the basis of the demonstration, the paper offers some advice and suggestions on improving the government performance evaluation. We should clear value concept, follow the basic principles, determine reasonably weight of each index, make performance evaluation standardization and scoring method, develop multiply trend, strengthen the construction of information, perfect system and so on.
