A Study On The Process And Basic Experience Of Maintaining The Party’s Advanced Nature And Purity Since The Reform And Opening Up

With continuous enhancement of the reform and opening-up policy, the Communist Party of China(CPC) has always been adjusting its construction principles with the aim to remain the party’s advanced nature and purity, playing the core leading role in reform and development. Reviewing the history of China’s thirty-year reform and opening-up, it could be seen that the process of the CPC retaining its advanced nature and purity is basically in consistence with the process of China’s reform and opening-up.At the initial stage of reform and opening-up, the CPC had to face various problems left over by “the Cultural Revolution”, for which it issued Criteria on Political Life within the Party to normalize the political life within the party,abolishing life-long tenure of the leaders during the consolidation of the party from 1983 to 1987; during the 1980 s, confronted with the flooding of bourgeois liberalization,the party adhered constantly to the four cardinal principles,retaining purity in thoughts, solving the problem of “belonging to socialism or capitalism”; at the turn of the century, facing the new situation of reform and opening-up, the party carried out “three emphases education”, stressing theoretical study, political awareness and good conduct, and implemented thoughts of “the Three Representatives”, thoroughly fighting corruption to build a clean government and improve comprehensively the party’s governing capability.entering into the new century, facing the severe situation of economic globalization and competition of comprehensive national power, the party has launched successively the activity of “creating excellence” and the educational practice of “mass policy”, meanwhile,the party also started a violent attack on corruption and comprehensively strengthen Party discipline, endeavoring to build a “learning, serving and innovating” ruling party.To meet the requirement of the development and reform and opening-up,Chinese Communist Party has accumulated precious experiences in retaining the advanced nature and purity,which are insisting on “serving the people”,retaining advanced nature and purity in thoughts; perfecting “democratic centralism”,retaining the advanced nature and purity in organization; “making a stand against of winds of four directions”, retaining the advanced nature and purity in style of work; strengthening construction of ruling ability,retaining the advanced nature in capability; sticking to “fighting against both the tiger and the fly”, retaining the advanced nature in anti-corruption; and “imprisoning the power into the cage”,retaining the advanced nature in system.
