Along with the rapid development of economy and society, urbanization process has been accelerating, which results in large amounts of famers and suburban residents losing their land because of demolition. As for famers, land is not only an important source of income for offsprings, but also an important means of production. It is a crucial gurantee and basis of famers’ living. When they were centralized to demolition and resettlement community, changes occur to their living environment and living conditions, besides, the production way of working, living habits and communication way, thought tendency, etc. have different degrees of changes.When famers carry out a brand new life with a new identity,a large number of social contradictions have taken place accordingly, which has brought new problems and challenges to social stability, ideological and political work in the community as well.The ideological and political work is not only a kind of education theory, at the same time, it is also a means of management and governance. At present, the country advocates the construction of a harmonious socialist society, under this background, governance of the demolition and resettlement community has an important influence on urbanization construction and transformation of farmers.This article focuses on the ideological and political work of the demolition resettlement community, which is divided into five parts. The first part is about the research background, research significance and current research status at home and abroad, as well as the related concepts, relevant theoretical basis is also introduced in this part. The second part analyzes the formation of a demolition and resettlement community in a university of Hu Nan and introduces the basic situation of residents there. The third part studies the necessity and dilemma of ideological and political education in this new type of community. The fourth part discusses the right path of ideological and political work in demolition and resettlement community.
