Research On Game Theory Analysis Of Food Safety Problems And The Countermeasures

The Chinese have a saying called “hunger breeds discontentment.” illustrateing theimportance of food. For individuals, the food is the individual’s fundamental guarantee of thecontinuity of life. For humans, food is the basis for the survival, activity and development.But in recent years because of tainted milk powder, the waste oil, Sudan Red and other foodsafety incidents continue to be reported, the issue of food security is gradually exposed to thepublic eye, caused widespread concern of the whole society, at the same time issue of foodsecurity become an important object of many research scholars. In this paper, through theintegrated use of literature method, theoretical analysis method, case study and empiricalanalysis method, and by using game theory analysis of food safety issues, Game theoryanalysis conclusions are obtained. Then, this paper Propose same countermeasures of foodsafety issues.This paper consists of four parts. The first part is preface, introducing the researchbackground, the significance of the topic and Research situation. The second part introducesthe game theory，and analyze the status of food security issues. This part first introduces thegame theory, then the liquor plasticizer incident in2012as an example, analyzes thecharacteristics of a number of food safety issues. The third part is the game theory analysis offood safety issues. Firstly, this part analyze the main gamers involved in food safety issuesgame, then through analyzing game elements, following results were obtained: informationheld by players is asymmetry; The food producers and business operators in order to pursueprofit maximization leads to illegal behavior; consumers the biggest loser in the game; thefinal result of food safety issues is no winner. The fourth part is the countermeasures of foodsafety problems. This part put forward countermeasures to China’s food safety problem atpresent, advocating some methods to resolve the food security problem in our country, such as:make rules of the game more strict; resolve the problem of asymmetric information in thegame; strengthen the supervision on the related game players; improve the game strategies ofdifferent players.
